The H&K 45 Tactical is approximately 8.6 inches long and 6.2 inches tall with the mag inserted. Not exactly a pocket pistol, but it still packs a lot of features in a reasonably sized package. The barrel is about 0.5 inch longer than the standard model's and, of course, comes threaded for a suppressor. To this long-time 1911 shooter, the balance and feel of the HK45 is superb. The pistol points naturally and feels great in the hand. I am glad to see the time spent on updating the USP's ergonomics paid off handsomely.

I know there are a number of people who will buy this pistol who don't have any plans to thread a suppressor on the end of it, so I'm a bit surprised HK doesn't sell it with a screw-on thread protector. The HK45 proved to have excellent distance accuracy, but this is not the point of a fighting pistol. You need a gun you can hold inside say an 8″ circle while shooting quickly inside room-sized distances.
